Negligence in road construction irks public

HARIPUR/ISLAMABAD:

The road from Chhajian to Dheri has become severely dilapidated as the contractor is using delay tactics in its construction. Potholes have formed in various spots, damaging the road and making it nearly impassable. As a result, local citizens are suffering greatly.

The concerned administration, particularly the Communication and Works Department, remains a silent spectator.

Residents said that the condition of the road has severely impacted traffic flow. They have called on the Communication and Works Department officials to take immediate action against the negligent sub-engineer and contractor to ensure the timely reconstruction of the road.

Additionally, during excavation, further damage was done to the road, which has not yet been repaired, creating significant transportation challenges for the community. Despite repeated appeals to the Communication and Works Department's Sub-Divisional Officer, the administration has failed to respond to public concerns.

Both public and social groups have demanded that action be taken against the irresponsible engineer. Residents have also appealed to the opposition leader in the National Assembly, Umar Ayub Khan, to visit the site and take strict action against those responsible for this negligence and incompetence.
