Formula One: ‘Indian GP on track’

NEW DELHI: India are on course to hold their maiden Formula One race in October, according to Bernie Ecclestone. The Formula One supremo, however, urged organisers to work hard to generate interest in the country. “It’ll be one of the nicest circuits and will be completed in time,” he said. Ecclestone, however, warned organisers to step up efforts to make the sport popular. “F1 is new to India,” he said. “It would take efforts to generate interest. We’ll never catch cricket but we can get close to it.”
