Two suspected terrorists held

Police claim both accused belong to TTP

KARACHI:

Super Highway Site Industrial Area Police arrested suspected terrorists allegedly belonging to a banned outfit and recovered a hand grenade, weapons, mobile phones and a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

Super Highway Site Industrial Area Police, acting on a tip-off, arrested Firdous Khan and Anas Khan who allegedly belonged to the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered two grenades, a pistol, three mobile phones and a motorcycle stolen from Gulshan-e-Maymar.

According to SSP East, the arrested suspects have received terrorism training from Afghanistan. Arrested accused Anas revealed that he has been arrested in Afghanistan before. Accused Anas' father Mehboob was a member of TTP Pakistan Waziristan.

Accused Anas added that he was imprisoned in Pul-e-Charni Jail from 2007 to 2012. A case has been registered against the arrested accused under Arms Act and Explosions Act and further investigation has started
