Smuggling network busted

KARACHI:

The Anti-Human Trafficking Circle of FIA has unearthed an organised human smuggling network, arresting five suspects and recovering 101 passports, including Indian and Afghan documents, along with visa stamps of more than 40 countries.

Addressing a press conference, FIA Deputy Director Ajmal said the suspects had been operating the illegal network for nearly a decade, facilitating the movement of hundreds of individuals abroad using forged travel documents.

The case surfaced after FIA Immigration officials at Jinnah International Airport offloaded two passengers—Taimoor Ahmed and Syed Aman—who were attempting to travel to South Korea on suspicious documents. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of agent Asif-ur-Rehman and his accomplices. Authorities found the passenger's passport having fake immigration stamps.
