Police solve mystery of foreigner’s murder

Apprehend three suspects who confessed to their crime during interrogation, says police spokesperson

KARACHI:

The Mehmoodabad police have solved the mystery of Korean national's murder within 24 hours and arrested three suspects.

According to East police spokesperson, mutilated body of a Korean national, identified as Chang Daewon, was found from his rented house in Kashmir Colony two days back.

The police, with the help of crime scene investigation team, collected evidence from the scene and later apprehended three suspects, Fayyaz Masih alias Faji, Justin alias Chand and Ali Haider, allegedly involved in Daewon's murder.

During interrogation, suspects disclosed that they had entered the Korean's house with an intention to steal valuables.

"Korean was asleep but, sensing our presence in the room, he woke up and recognised us. Fearing that he would identify us if a report is lodged, we tied his hands and killed him by slitting his neck," suspects said in their statement.

One of the arrested suspects is also a resident of Kashmir Colony, the spokesman said, adding that police have recovered snatched mobile phones, looted cash, a purse and other valuables from the possession of suspects.
