Three-year-old son of deceased survives crash

A couple were killed and a woman injured when a speeding tractor trolley collided with a car in Shera Kot on Monday.

The couple’s three-year-old son survived the accident.

The victims were travelling in the car on Band Road in the wee hours of the day when the speeding tractor trolley rammed into it. The vehicle was severely damaged and the victims suffered severe injuries. The couple died while their son Zain survived.

Nearby people called Rescue 1122 teams. They reached the spot on information and shifted the victims to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced the couple as dead.

A police team reached the spot on information and shifted the bodies to a morgue for autopsy.

The deceased were identified as 40-year-old Sabtain Zaheer Abbas and 35-year-old Tehseen.

The injured victim identified as 50-year-old Qamar Batool was undergoing treatment at a hospital for critical injuries.

Meanwhile, at least 13 people were killed and 1,137 were injured in 1,078 road traffic crashes in all 36 districts of Punjab during past 24 hours.

Out of the total injured, 665 people were seriously injured, who were shifted to different hospitals whereas 472 victims with minor injuries were treated at the incident sites.
