Govt taking steps to promote tourism: Sarwar

Says extraordinary measures are being taken to ensure the security of tourists

Punjab Governor Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has said that the government was taking steps to promote tourism.

“Extra ordinary measures are being taken to ensure the security of the tourists and to provide them more facilities.”

Addressing 'Hello Ibn-e-Batoota' book launch ceremony at Governor’s House on Saturday, he added, “Pakistan has great potential in tourism sector and billions of dollars can be earned by the promotion of tourist industry in the country.”

He further said that all political and religious parties should keep national interest supreme in order to cope with the challenges being faced by the country. “The sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in war against terrorism are unprecedented.”

Sarwar underscored that Pakistan was ready to play its role in establishing peace in the region, including Afghanistan in the current scenario. “Pakistan has one of the best armed forces in the world, who are foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists and anti-state forces.”
