A statue of Abdul Sattar Edhi, made by a local artist was unveiled by his son Faisal Edhi on the occasion of the fifth death anniversary.
Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away five years ago.
On the occasion of his death anniversary, a ceremony was held at Abdul Sattar Edhi Chowk in Quetta where Faisal Edhi formally inaugurated the 17 feet high statue of his father.
Civil society also attended the event to pay their respects to the philanthropist.
Provincial Interior Minister Zia Langau attended the inauguration ceremony. Talking to media on the occasion, he said that the mission of Abdul Sattar Edhi will be carried forward and the service will continue.
Faisal Edhi says that he is overwhelmed by the love he got from the people of Balochistan.

Faisal Edhi said that Edhi went to remote areas of Balochistan to perform social services.
He thanked Ishaq Lehri and PPHI for the statue of Abdul Sattar Edhi in Quetta.
Sculptor Ishaq Lehri says that it took 3 months to make the statue of Abdul Sattar Edhi. He used fiber in the making of the statue.
“The length of the statue of Edhi Sahib is 17 and a half and the width is 4 feet,” he said.
Civil society members also paid tribute to Abdul Sattar Edhi and appreciated his services to humanity.
The statue was created by Ishaq Lehri, a well-known artist and sculptor from Quetta, and was installed at Edhi Chowk a month ago in collaboration with the People's Primary Health Care Institute.
