Opposition lawmakers in the Balochistan Assembly on Tuesday staged a loud protest, condemning the government's failure to address the deteriorating law and order situation and demanding the immediate recovery of a kidnapped child, Muhammad Musawir.

The protesting lawmakers gathered near the speaker's chair, expressing their frustration over the government's inability to ensure peace in the province.

Opposition Leader Mir Younas Aziz Zehri criticised authorities for failing to protect citizens' lives and property, pointing specifically to the unresolved abduction case.

Balochistan Assembly Speaker Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai urged the lawmakers to return to their seats, and assured them that their concerns would be addressed. He directed the chief secretary of Balochistan and the inspector general of police to provide a detailed briefing to the assembly on the law- and-order situation.

K-P Minister Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani reassured the house of the government's determination to recover the kidnapped child and ensure public safety. He also informed the lawmakers that the issue would be discussed further with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti.

Meanwhile, protests by political parties continued at the Assembly Chowk for the fifth consecutive day, demanding the child's recovery. The demonstrations resulted in severe traffic congestion in the provincial capital, leaving citizens frustrated.

The demonstrators, including leaders of political parties, tribal elders, and civil society members, demanded immediate action for the safe recovery of the abducted child. The ongoing protests have disrupted daily life in the provincial capital, impacting students' access to schools and colleges.
