Pakistani internet users were surprised to see Google search results showing Ertugrul-famed Esra Bilgic as Pakistani actor Yasir Hussain's parent.
It was then discovered that the information has been sourced to Wikipedia and the search engine was not responsible for creating this misunderstanding.
Turns out, the actor's bio was heavily vandalised last week, since anyone can edit information on the site with hundreds of changes being made everyday in an effort to keep it updated.
Hussain has not publicly respond to the troll and the change has not been rectified on Wikipedia till the filing of this report either.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hussain has been an easy target for trolls this year after he condemned the airing of Diriliş: Ertuğrul on Pakistan's national television. The celebrity, like Shaan, did not support the one-sided benefits, which according to him and others alike, only the Turkish stars seemed to be reaping from the serial's increased popularity.
Both Bilgic and Engin Altan Duzyatan received insurmountable praise from Pakistanis with brands making them their ambassadors. 2020 has in fact been deemed the year of Diriliş: Ertuğrul according to The Express Tribune.
