Two companies, which had bid for building and running a tuck shop on the service area along the highway in Mansehra, had failed to qualify. As a result, the tendering process was being carried out again.
This was disclosed during the meeting of the sub-panel of the Senate Standing Committee on Communications which met at the Parliament House on Thursday. Senator Yousuf Badini chaired the sub-committee.
The meeting discussed the issue of giving service areas to Pakistan State Oil (PSO) on the Mansehra Service Area and the M-5. In a briefing from officials of the Communications Ministry, the committee was informed that the process of constructing the filling station in the Mansehra service area has started. Initially, the station did not include a tuck shop. To address this and after approval from the National Highway Authority (NHA), ministry officials said that a tender was floated.
