When Ayushmann Khurrana tried his luck on reality show 'Popstars'

The show's judge, singer Palash Sen, shared a 17-year-old throwback from the time

Indian pop band Euphoria's front-man Palash Sen seems to be in reminiscing mode and he is throwing it back 17-years-ago with Bollywood success Ayushmann Khurrana.

Ayushmann has cemented a place for himself in Bollywood in the past few years, however, the Andhadhun actor's success has been a lengthy labour - he has appeared in reality shows, worked as a VJ, RJ and a musician before hitting it big. One of his outing also included appearing on Palash's show Popstars.

The singer took to social media to share an extreme throwback in honour of Ayushmann's newest release, Gulabo Sitabo. "2003, a young boy wanted to be a singer in a show where I was the judge - Popstars. He didn't win it but won my heart and my love forever," wrote Palash.

He went on to lift Ayushmann up for his resilience and getting to where he is at. "Travelled with me for Euphoria gigs and always stayed close to me. Today as his new film releases, he is definitely India's most loved and most talented actor," he wrote.

"Ayush, I am as proud of you today as I was 17 years back. Love you my bro. Everyone, go watch Gulabo Sitabo on Amazon Prime," he added at the end.

Looking at the picture, one can barely recognise Ayushmann, with his french beard, spectacles, and style choice that is reminiscent of early 2000s fashion.

Ayushman's Gulabo Sitabo released on Amazon Prime on Friday, May 12 - the actor stars alongside his icon and inspiration, Amitabh Bachchan in the Shoojit Sircar film.
