This programme was launched in Pakistan in 2018. The main objective of JDS is to strengthen the administrative capacities of the government of Pakistan for social and economic development.
This programme targets young Pakistani government officials, who are expected to play a leadership role in the development of their country. “This scholarship has been newly created to provide young and competent Pakistani government officials with opportunities to study two years in Japan’s graduate schools,” said the ambassador.
This year, 18 competent civil servants from 13 different departments enrolled in six different universities will study in Japan.
From this opportunity they have the benefit of acquiring expert knowledge, conducting research and building human network. These will help the trainees take an active role in solving practical problems of the social and economic development issues in Pakistan.
