Women are pushed to judge one another based on patriarchal standards: Sonya Hussyn

The star took to Instagram to share her thoughts on the need for women learning to "celebrate each other"

Sonya Hussyn is fast becoming a local favourite in the celebrity industry. If her name isn’t setting off any ringing in your head, you could be living under a rock.

Over the past few years, the diva has set herself as one of the top actors in Pakistan. She also exudes style by opening and closing countless high fashion runways, stunned covers of major magazines and even graced cinema screens in films such as Moor and Azaadi.

Now, fans have even more reason to celebrate Hussyn after her recent thoughts she shared on her Instagram stories.

The star posted a meaningful message about her outlook on how women treat each other in society and how they are "scrutinised."

"It is something very common that we are told what to do, what not to and judged often and unfairly for the decisions we make in our lives," Hussyn began her statement via the social media app..

She continued, "We are even scrutinised over something as inherently personal as our own bodies, what a shame. It's cox we live in a society where a woman can't see another woman grow and that's because, sadly, they too had to go through the same circumstance."

The actor seems to talk from her own experiences, as she is certainly shining and growing in the industry.  We can't forget her bedazzling red carpet entrance at this year's Lux Style Awards after her nomination for Best TV Actress.

Hussyn exuded glamour and elegance in a divine satin sheath floor length gown by designer Shamsha Hashwani. According to her, women are insecure because of the "patriarchal standards" in the country.

"We're pushed to judge one another based on patriarchal standards, it defines nothing but our own insecurities," she wrote via her Instagram share.

Hussyn certainly does not shy away from voicing her opinion on social media. We can't forget when she called out anchor Mubashir Lucman for being "the worst example of journalism" on, again, her Instagram story after the personality made controversial remarks about actor Ali Zafar earlier in the year.

For now, the star wants to convey her message about women learning to support one another and overcoming gossip and opinions.

"Their opinions aren't your problem, because those who usually know the least about something have the most to say," Hussyn conveyed via her story.

She ended her thoughts on a positive note. "Just remember that we being women have to be strong and need to celebrate each other first and let each other shine. I am telling you, half of the problem will automatically be solved."
