ISLAMABAD: A district court granted bail to a suspect of drug trafficking on grounds that the prosecution had so far failed to produce solid evidence. A man, who had been arrested by the Shalimar police over his involvement in drugs, has been granted bail by a district court in the federal capital on Friday. Additional District and Sessions Judge Sikandar Khan was hearing the case of Saad Talat who was implicated in a drug case. While hearing the case, the court noted that the prosecution has thus far failed to present conclusive evidence against the suspect. After hearing arguments from lawyers on both sides, the court approved Talat’s bail against a bail bond worth Rs100,000. The court further directed to continue the trial of the suspect and adjourned proceedings until March 30.
