A boy was killed after a pistol went off accidentally in Shujabad tehsil on Tuesday.

Reportedly, 14-year-old Wajid, a resident of Basti Khokhran, was working as a servant at a pir’s house in Multan.

On the day of the incident, he was playing with the pistol along with his friend when it went off accidentally and a bullet hit his neck. He was immediately rushed to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition but he could not survive. Later, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after completing legal formalities.

After the incident, police reached the spot and took the victim’s friend into custody. Meanwhile, Wajid’s father Ashiq Ali refused to initiate legal proceedings against the accused as the incident was an accident and not intentional.

Suddenly, the pistol went off and a bullet hit the minor, leaving him critically injured. Ali was rushed to hospital where he expired.
