Reportedly, 14-year-old Wajid, a resident of Basti Khokhran, was working as a servant at a pir’s house in Multan.

On the day of the incident, he was playing with the pistol along with his friend when it went off accidentally and a bullet hit his neck. He was immediately rushed to Nishtar Hospital in critical condition but he could not survive. Later, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family after completing legal formalities.

After the incident, police reached the spot and took the victim’s friend into custody. Meanwhile, Wajid’s father Ashiq Ali refused to initiate legal proceedings against the accused as the incident was an accident and not intentional.

Earlier, a three-year-old boy was killed accidentally when a pistol went off while it was being cleaned in Lahore’s Kahna vicinity.

Police said Asad Ali, son of Asghar Ali of Ward No 13, was playing in the street while a neighbour, Misbah alias Chuba Gujjar, was cleaning his pistol.

Suddenly, the pistol went off and a bullet hit the minor, leaving him critically injured. Ali was rushed to hospital where he expired.
