Two injured in robbery bid in Dera Ghazi Khan

Police say robbers looted cash Rs0.1 million from the victim

DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least two people were injured while putting up resistance during a robbery attempt in Dera Ghazi Khan, The Express Tribune reported on Friday.

An official of City police station said that rice trader Muhammad Sadiq and his worker Shaheen were present in a shop situated in Block 5 adjacent to an Imambargah when unidentified robbers barged in.

He added the outlaws ordered Sadiq to hand over cash and valuables at gun point. He highlighted that the robbers looted cash Rs0.1 million from the victim. However, when the culprits were fleeing, Sadiq and Shaheen tried to overpower them.

The police official lamented that the culprits opened fire on both men and fled the scene along with the booty.  As a result, the victims suffered critical bullet injuries and were shifted to Trauma Centre for treatment.

The police have registered an FIR against the suspects and initiated legal proceedings.
