A two-person exhibition at Nomad Art Gallery explores the various aspirations of the artists. The two collections are titled “Sorry for Inconvenience “ and “Dual Line” and are by Wajid Ali and Sadia Hussain respectively.
Wajid Ali’s collection depicts the journey and paths man crosses over time. Using acrylics and mixed media, the artist intends to take the viewer on a journey. Ali said that every individual has a different journey and perhaps that is why every time his works will be viewed as a new experience.
“Some oaths are trodden a hundred times and some only once over a period of several years. [Both] have been recorded here,” said Ali,” The continuity of the line reflects time and space and takes the viewer on a trip through my personal experiences.”
He added he has used art to relate his “joyful” travel experiences and record his journey in life. The artist has articulated his ideas very creatively.
Sadia Hussain’s collection however does not have a very aesthetic appeal; whether it is the work itself or the framing, the collection is a disappointment. The theme is supposed to reflect the 9/11 incident. However, the pain and anguish that the artist is trying to portray does not make an impact as the art pieces lack emotion and fail to deliver the intended message.
