QUETTA: Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Langove has vowed to resolve the missing persons issue within the next three months as the incumbent government wanted to address this issue on priority basis.

He made the pledge during a visit to the missing persons’ camp in Quetta on Sunday. The minister said after three months the protesters can chant slogans against him.

Langove said: “Despite freezing temperature in Quetta relatives of the missing persons are sitting in camps… the provincial government is responsible to hear and resolve their woes because they are not strangers but our own people”.

He said that the incumbent government is serious in resolving the missing persons’ issue.

“Six to seven hostile agencies are spoiling peace in Balochistan. Those who joined armed movement against the state and are living in mountains or neighbouring countries are placed in missing persons’ list but the provincial government will move forward by following all legalities,” said Langove.

On negotiations with the missing persons’ families, he said unfortunately the families of missing persons were distracted and lured to pick arms against the state but “we seek to bring them back on negotiation table”.
