The Quetta district administration has constituted a special committee to evaluate the financial and structural damages caused by the powerful explosion near Chaman Phatak on Sunday, which claimed 14 lives and left many others injured.
According to an official notification, the committee has been directed to begin work immediately and carry out a comprehensive survey of the affected area. The panel will assess damage to residential homes, shops, vehicles, commercial establishments, and other properties impacted by the blast.
Deputy Commissioner Quetta, who also serves as Chairman of the District Compensation Committee, formed the panel to ensure a fair, transparent, and accurate evaluation of losses suffered by local residents and business owners.
Assistant Commissioner (City) Quetta has been appointed as the head of the committee. Its members include senior officials from the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD), Communication and Works Department, Metropolitan Corporation Quetta, and Agricultural Engineering Department.
Officials said the committee will visit the blast site, document all damaged structures and vehicles, and prepare a detailed report. The findings will be submitted to the district administration to determine appropriate compensation packages and relief measures for the affected families.
The explosion near Chaman Phatak caused widespread destruction in the densely populated area, shattering windows, damaging buildings, and destroying several parked vehicles.
