Six people were burnt to death on Wednesday when a passenger bus and another vehicle collided on the Coastal Highway in the Ormara area of Gwadar district.
Two women and two children were among those killed in the blaze that followed the crash.
According to SP Coastal Highway Police Aslam Bangalzai, the accident occurred when a bus travelling towards Karachi collided with a vehicle coming from Turbat. The impact caused the vehicle to catch fire almost immediately. Flames engulfed the scene, leaving the six occupants with no chance of escape.
Police said the deceased included two women and two children. Further details about the identities of the victims and the exact number of people travelling in each vehicle were not immediately available.
Coastal Highway Police reached the site promptly after receiving information about the accident. Officers recovered the bodies and shifted them to a nearby hospital for legal formalities and post-mortem examinations. The Coastal Highway, a vital route linking Karachi with coastal towns in Balochistan, has witnessed several serious accidents in recent years. Officials have not yet indicated whether mechanical failure, overspeeding or another factor contributed to Wednesday's collision. An investigation has been launched to determine the precise cause of the crash and the subsequent fire.
