Blast in Mastung orchard kills six

Explosion inside a fruit orchard in the Khad Kucha area within the Bagh sector in Mastung left six people dead and three others severely injured, local authorities said on Friday.

They said emergency teams rushed to the site shortly after the incident, transporting the deceased and the wounded to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Hospital in Mastung. Medical personnel confirmed that all three injured are currently in critical condition and receiving urgent care.

Security forces quickly arrived to secure the premises, establishing a wide cordon around the blast site to preserve vital evidence. A specialised Bomb Disposal Squad was deployed to inspect the area, gather fragments, and analyse the exact nature of the explosive mechanism used.

At present, no group claimed responsibility for the deadly blast. Police officials have launched a full investigation into the matter, gathering intelligence and interviewing potential witnesses to determine the motive and apprehend those accountable. Security measures across the surrounding district have been heightened.
