RAWALPINDI: With residents of the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi facing water shortage, students, faculty and people from different walks of life undertook a walk to raise awareness on the issue at a public park in Shamsabad on Wednesday. The walk had been organised by the Public Awareness on Natural Environment and Education (PANEE) on Wednesday. The participants held up placards and banners inscribed with slogans calling for greater water conservancy. “Our society wastes enormous quantities of water. We must devise ways to fight wastage of water,” said PANEE Trust International Chairman Arif Shah, adding that Pakistan is blessed with the most abundant of geological resources yet, as there is always a flipside to the equation.
