QUETTA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Balochistan President Ali Madad Jattak has said that intimidation and threats in the name of accountability of his party’s leadership would not be acceptable at any cost.

In a statement on Saturday, the PPP leader warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) not to take any action that would prove detrimental to the ruling party in the near future.

He accused the government of pursuing a policy of “intimidation in the name of accountability against the leadership of PPP”.

He also said those who have registered fake cases against PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari would ultimately be unsuccessful in their designs.

The PPP has always played its role for the revival of democracy in Pakistan and never compromised on it, he added.

Jattak said, “In order to keep the corruption of ministers secret, PTI has kept silent.”

Truth prevails, he said, adding that character assassination and political victimisation were being employed in the veil of accountability.
Referring to lingering drought in province, he urged the government to be vigilant and make earnest efforts for the safety of people. If negligence is shown on the part of government, PPP would take to the streets, he added.

Moreover, he expressed hope that PPP will win the by-poll in PB-26 Quetta III.
