Imran Abbas has always been popular choice for film-makers across the border. While the actor made his Bollywood debut opposite Bipasha Basu in Creature 3D, his cameo in Karan Johar helmed Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was lauded by critics.

In a recent appearance on Samina Peerzada's web show, the Pakistani heartthrob talked about how he was offered numerous Indian projects but nothing appealed to him after Creature 3D. However, if rumours are to be trusted, he might just become part of another Hindi feature. Obviously, if India removes the ban on Pakistani artists.

According to Gulf News, a Mumbai-based film-maker Abhinav Shiv Tiwari has reached out to the actor for the lead role in his next. Tiwari is best known for X: Past Is Present (2015), a film directed by 11 directors.

However, this won't be the first time Imran has been approached by a Bollywood film-maker.

A few years ago, the 36-year-old earlier declined Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic saga Guzaarish (2010) only because he had been offered an insignificant part (later played by Aditya Roy Kapur). That's when he opted to debut in Bollywood as Bipasha's leading man, with Creature 3D (2014).

He later rejected few more films. "Rejecting Aashqui 2 and Ram Leela were one of the few decisions I regret at that time. Now, I don’t have any remorse," the actor told Samina.

“I did a Bollywood film which didn’t really work at the box-office,” the star shared. “When I was offered projects that went on to become some of the highest-grossing films of their times, I later realised that it was imperative to take the decision (rejecting them) that I took in order to get my perspective right.”

To him, success and failure isn’t just limited to luxuries in life. It’s concerned with contentment.

Earlier this year, news of Imran bagging a Hollywood film made headlines. Talking to The Express Tribune, the star revealed he will be playing a spy in the film who is from a Syrian-Morrocan descent. “I have many get-ups in the film and I will be seen in about six to seven disguises as I play the lead protagonist,” shared the actor.

Shot at multiple locations including the UK, Europe and Turkey, the film is titled The Trojan Horse.

While Imran still might be experimenting with his films, he has starred in major TV productions such as Umrao Jaan Ada, Noor Mahal, Khuda Aur Mohabbat, and the latest Koi Chand Rakh Meri Shaam Par. He was recently nominated among the World’s 100 Most Handsome Men by tccandler.

He has said on record that he made an exception for Ae Dil Hai Mushkil because it was a Dharma Productions film that was helmed by the ace producer, “my favourite director!”

It would be interesting to see if the Tiwari film appeals to him in any way.
