Crackdown: Police arrest eight kite runners

Runners found in possession of string rolls and 150 kites

RAWALPINDI: Police in their crackdowns against kite sellers have arrested eight suspects and recovered 62 kite flying string rolls from their possession.

According to a police spokesperson, Saddar Baroni police held Azan for possessing 150 kites and two string rolls, Yasir on recovery of 20 kites and a string roll, Falak Naz for having 600 kites and five string rolls.

Westridge police rounded up Haris on recovery of 505 kites and 24 string rolls. Naseerabad police also recovered 600 kites and 20 string rolls from Abdul Rehman.

Race Course police conducted a raid and held Javed for possessing 500 kites and three string rolls. Saddar Wah police sent behind bars a kite seller namely Bashir and recovered 57 kites and four string rolls and Abid with 22 kites and three string rolls.
