Remarkable photographer and Lux Style Award winner, Muhammad Husain Mahmood better known as MHM rises to the challenge of our rapid fire-round. Find out the one compliment he keeps getting, the best thing that has ever happened to him and the benchmark of his success!



What was the benchmark of your success?

1. I completed my Bachelors in Fine Arts from PUCAD and post graduation from NCA in 2013. During this time, I started working as a freelance photographer. I started to work on different projects such as fashion photography, fashion films, music videos and much more. The main highlight of this period was my job at Guddu Shani which actually gave my career a kick start. I believe I gained such incredible experience from Guddu Shani that it played a major role in my career as well as in my personality.

2. What was the benchmark of your success?

3. When did you start pursuing your passion for photography?

If I talk in terms of years, I have been pursuing my passion since 2007.

4. What is the one compliment that you have received several times?

I have been told the best thing about me is that I never deviate from my goals and targets.

5. What would you say to your past self?

I have faced many barriers, troubles and difficult situations; mentally, emotionally and financially and that took a toll on me. So I would encourage my past self to not give up. I would tell myself to keep on pushing and that it will all work out in the end.



6. What would you say is the reason behind your success?

Whenever someone asks how I managed to build a successful career, the only thing I tell them is, I put my best in my passion and struggle as much as I can. I never deviate from my goals. Every day I try to learn something new, experiment with different things and take risks. I learn from others and experience things on my own.

7. What is the one rule you follow in life?

“Every great thing takes time”

8. What was the best thing that has ever happened to you?

I got a Hum Style Award in 2017. When my name was called on stage, it was my favourite moment of all time.

9. Name one thing you love and one thing you hate?

If we talk about likes and dislikes, I love to travel and explore the world especially my own amazing country. I hate wasting time.



10. Is there a person that you trust with your life?

My family.

11. Name one food item that you don’t like?

I like every kind of food but obviously halal.

12. What was the best part of 2017 for you?

I got nominated at the Lux Style Awards in 2018 and I felt so humbled. Let’s see what happens next, wishing for the best.
