Acting Governor Rahila says better healthcare facilities will be provided to expecting mothers

QUETTA: Balochistan Acting Governor Rahila Hameed Khan Durrani has announced the establishment of a new maternity hospital on the pattern of Lady Dufferin Hospital, saying it will help in providing better healthcare facilities to expecting mothers.
“The Lady Dufferin Hospital was built during the British rule but unfortunately we didn’t pay much attention to revamp the maternity hospital,” said the acting governor while inaugurating the Clerical Unit Office at the Bolan Medical Complex (BMC) on Saturday.

Balochistan Assembly speaker vows to promote sports activities

The Balochistan Assembly speaker said, “We are going to build another maternity hospital.”
Rahila said, “In the upcoming provincial budget, the Balochistan government has allocated a lavish amount for building a cancer ward at BMC and purchasing cancer treatment machinery.”

She said that after completion of the cancer ward the people of Balochistan would not be compelled to visit other cities.
Inaugurating the Clerical Unit Office at BMC, she said, “Clerks play a vital role in all official work.”

She urged the clerks at the ceremony to understand their responsibilities.
Kidney Centre Quetta visit

The acting governor paid a visit to the Kidney Centre, Quetta to review the health facilities.
She applauded the services being offered at the kidney centre.

“The centre provides free dialysis service to poor patients without any discrimination,” she said, adding that thousands of patients from across the province were benefiting from it.

“We have given top priority to healthcare and need the support of donors, who always join the government in providing good healthcare facilities to the poor people of Balochistan,” Rahila added.
The paramedical staff and doctors working at the kidney centre apprised the caretaker governor of their problems. Rahila assured them that the provincial government would address all issues, including financial hurdles, of the centre.
