ISLAMABAD: A delegation of Chinese companies from Lanzhou, China has expressed keen interest in finding local partners for joint manufacturing of engineering goods and energy-efficient vehicles in Pakistan.

During a visit to the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) on Tuesday, the delegation members highlighted escalators and elevators as the possible products that could be manufactured.

Speaking on the occasion, delegation head Xuexian Pei said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had created a long-term business partnership between the two countries.

He said Lazhou Yatai Eastern Elevators Co, the manufacturers of heavy-duty escalators, elevators and lifts, was looking for local partners in Pakistan for manufacturing its products.

He also gave a presentation on the products being offered for joint manufacturing.

Talking to the delegation, ICCI Senior Vice President Muhammad Naveed said time was ripe for Chinese investors to bring in technology and set up joint ventures in Pakistan.
