Land dispute claims five lives

Members of the two rival groups exchanged hot words which led to an exchange of firing between the groups

FAISALABAD: Five persons were killed while two others were severely injured in a shoot-out between two rival groups at Mouza Khai Ka Tibbah within the jurisdiction of Kur police station on Wednesday.

Police Station Kur SHO Muhammad Waris told The Express Tribune that there were two groups in the area of Deogera known as Mirza Sahi Group and Nawaz Sahi Group and both had an enmity over a land dispute. He added that to intact their domination and influence on people both groups opposed each other on all front.

On the day of incident, the members of both groups exchanged hot words which led to an exchange of firing between the groups. As a result, Mudassar Ahmad, 35, Wali Muhammad, 34, Muhammad Nawaz, 40, Muhammad Ijaz, 16, and Mubbashir Ahmad, 36, suffered bullet injuries and died on the spot. The bodies were shifted to THQ hospital Tandlianwala.
