Three professors die in road accident near Pindi

The senior professors of Government Emerson College Multan were travelling to Murree to attend an awareness seminar

MULTAN: Three senior professors of the Government Emerson College Multan were killed in a road accident in Chakri near Rawalpindi on Saturday morning.

Professor Rana Dilshad, the divisional president of the Anjuman-e-Asatiza Pakistan, Professor Rao Zafar Zulifqar and Professor Zafar Iqbal, the president of the Punjab Professors Lecturers Association, were travelling to Murree to attend an awareness seminar.

Road accident claims man’s life

Shiekh Ramzan, an employee of the college accompanying the professors, was also injured in the accident.

The bodies were shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Islamabad from where they will be sent back to Multan.

Police and rescue sources said the accident took place near the Chakri Interchange on the Motorway.

They added that the accident occurred because the driver, while over-speeding, lost control  of the vehicle.
