According to Chak-6 Abbasia resident Ejaz Ahmed, his wife was kidnapped while he was asleep on Saturday night. “When I woke up she was not in bed and her things were missing,” he said.
Ahmed searched for his wife but neighbours told him that Muhammad Kashif and two unidentified accomplices were spotted dragging his wife into a car. Ahmed said that Kashif and he had a dispute over property.
He also told police that five tolas of gold ornaments and Rs10,000 were missing from his house.
Police contacted the kidnappers, who promised to return the girl but later demanded a large ransom. Liaqatpur Police have registered a case and started an investigation.
