Mobile squad: One demoted, 3 suspended

Official of the Mobile Squad was demoted and three were suspended for misusing power.

LAHORE: An official of the Mobile Squad was demoted and three were suspended on Sunday after they were found guilty in charges of misusing their powers and misbehaving with the citizens.

Mobile Squad SP Muntazir Mehdi suspended Muhammad Afzal, the Defence Phase V in charge and three police constables for unreasonably stopping a family and mistreating them.

SP Mehdi said, “No police officer will be allowed to bring a bad name to the police force.” Muhammd Afzal along with three officers stopped a family for security checking and misbehaved with the women.

The family had registered a complaint against the said officials after which the decision was taken by the SP following investigation into the matter.
