LAHORE: According to a spokesperson of the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC), due to a heavy cyclone on May 21, seven towers each of 500kV along the Dadu-Guddu and the Dadu-Shikarpur transmission lines collapsed besides two towers on the Dadu-Jamshoro transmission line. The spokesperson informed that despite such a big disaster, power supply was not affected as the protection system of the NTDC ensured not only uninterrupted power supply but also saved the power system’s terminal equipment. “The collapsed towers will be replaced in minimum possible time,” said the spokesperson. “At present, the northern area is being supplied by many power plants.”
