Intellectual Property: ‘Rights of stakeholders to be protected’

ISLAMABAD:

Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO-Pak) Chairman Hameedullah Jan Afridi has said consumer and inventor rights will be protected by introducing fair business practices and ensuring strict compliance with laws, in order to achieve IPO targets.

Speaking at a meeting on Friday, Afridi said that effective and result-oriented measures will be taken to manage and protect intellectual property rights under different IP laws including patents, trademarks, copyrights, integrated circuits and industrial designs.

Afridi said that countries around the world are focusing on the development of intellectual property systems and contributing to industrial growth and economic development, adding that these objectives would only be achieved through active participation from stakeholders and experts.
