LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said concrete steps were being taken to eradicate child labour from the province. He stressed that deserving children will be sent to schools.

The minister expressed these views while presiding over a meeting to review measures taken for the elimination of child labour in Punjab. The meeting also discussed all developments in the eradication of child labour at filling stations, workshops and restaurants. The minister said the Punjab government was determined to end child labour in the province and send deserving children to schools as they were the future of the nation.

“The elimination of child labour is not a project, rather we are evolving a mechanism in which child labour will continue decreasing with the passage of time. Work in this regard is in progress with full zeal in all the districts of the province,” the minister remarked. Ashfaq reiterated that every deserving child should be benefit from this policy of the Punjab government. Secretary labour, director general and other officers were also present for the meeting.
