ISLAMABAD: Police Thursday returned stolen valuables which had been stolen from the house of a senior bureaucrat. The house of Muhammad Azam, a former secretary of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and currently the registrar of the Gilgit-Baltistan Supreme Appellate Court, had been burgled last year when Azam was visiting his native town to celebrate Eidul Azha.In an FIR lodged with the Lohi Bher police on September 15, Azam had claimed that unidentified thieves had broken into his home in Media Town and stole jewellery, cash, a camera, dollars and two mobile phones. Special Investigation Unit of the police tracked subsequently down the suspects and recovered the stolen valuables from them. The valuables were handed over to Azam on Thursday.
