Bounced Cheque: FIR against CDA chairman suspended
They argued that the cheques had been issued by the account officer
ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad High Court Monday suspended two FIRs against the Capital Development Authority (CDA) chairman, member land, member state and the deputy DG land over bounced cheques. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui suspended the FIRs while directing the Aabpara SHO to appear before the court with complete records. The court also issued notices to the complainant in the cases, Imran Ali, for November 24. Ali had filed cases against the capital authority’s officials at Aabpara Police Station claiming he had been given cheques worth Rs260 million, but when he tried to cash them, the cheques bounced. On Monday, the CDA chairman, along with other officials nominated in the case, approached the IHC through their counsel seeking to have the FIRs against them quashed. They argued that the cheques had been issued by the account officer and that they had nothing to do with it.
