No Da’ish network in Sindh, claims IG

Expresses his desire to open citizen police liaison committees in all districts of Sindh

HYDERABAD: Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja has ruled out the presence of any network of Da’ish in Sindh.

Talking to the media in Tando Muhammad Khan, where he laid the foundation stone of a private school, the IG said, "There may be some individuals who are inspired by the group, but there is no organised network."

He informed that the seminaries allegedly involved in promoting armed struggle have been identified. "We will take action against them under the National Action Plan," he added.



He said that illegal migrants from Afghan, Bengali and Burmese communities have been found to be involved in terrorist activities by banned organisations in Karachi.

On Saturday, he told the media in Hyderabad that the police are awaiting the forensic report of the huge cache of weapons recovered from Azizabad, Karachi on October 5, which is close to the headquarters of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, to further the investigation.



Responding to a query about the construction of a compound wall at a police training school in Hyderabad, he said the project for is in the 'pipeline'. Meanwhile, the IG expressed his desire to open citizen police liaison committees in all districts of Sindh to improve coordination between citizens and the police.
