LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday sought replies from the home secretary and the inspector general of prisons on a petition challenging the detention of Anjuman-i-Muzareen leaders in Okara. A division bench, headed by Justice Anwarul Haq, expressed concern over the alleged inhuman treatment being meted out to Anjuman-i-Muzareen leader Mehr Abdul Sattar in a Sahiwal jail. The bench sought a report on the matter. Earlier, Advocates Asma Jahangir and Sardar Akbar Dogar argued on behalf of the petitioners. They submitted that the district administration in Okara had unlawfully detained Sattar and other Anjuman-i-Muzareen leaders.
