In the line of duty: Fallen police officials remembered

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police on Thursday commemorated policemen who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Special prayers were said for those who have passed away at a ceremony, attended by senior police officials, at Jamia Mosque in Police Line Headquarters.

Islamabad IGP Tariq Masood Yasin in his message said that like their compatriots elsewhere in the country, the capital police had added a golden chapter in their history -- written with the blood of the fallen.

“Thirty-nine police officials of Islamabad police have fallen in the line of duty [till date],” Yasin said.

Meanwhile, a ceremony was also held at Police College Sihala on Thursday to pay homage to the Punjab Police fallen cops who had sacrificed their lives to combat terrorism, said a press release.
