Smi college founder: Book on Hassanally Effendi launched

KARACHI: The principal of Sindh Madressatul Islam (SMI) College, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, has written a book on Khan Bahadur Hassanally Effendi, which was launched by Senate chairman Farooq H. Naek, according to a press release on Monday.

Its title is “Hassanally Effendi: The founder of Sindh Madressatul Islam”. According to Dr Shaikh, before this book, there was no work on the life and services of Effendi. Justice Ameer Ali, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan and Hassanally Effendi were a triad in the pre-Partition subcontinent.

Therefore, the sprit behind writing this book was that Hassanally Effendi not only established a great institution like the Sindh Madressah but also served the Muslim Ummah. This is why he was given the title of “Effendi” by the then Turkish government. press release
