
A high-powered delegation of Chinese government officials and owners of some big private enterprises of Xijiang region on Thursday showed interest in joint ventures and investments in Pakistan.
Visiting the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Head of the delegation, Communist Party Division Secretary General of Xijiang region, Huang Zhigang, said after 30 years of economic reforms in China, the entrepreneurs had good experience of developing an economy on modern lines. He said they wanted to contribute to the economic development of Pakistan by exploring the possibility of joint ventures and investments as Pakistan had a good potential to grow and become a strong economy.
He said 10,000 Chinese nationals of Xijiang region had participated in the construction of Karakoram Highway, which was a friendship channel between the two countries. The delegation expressed its interest in starting a new chapter of cooperation with Pakistan by working on fresh projects and partnerships.
