Afridi orders maximum security for pilgrims

Measures are being taken to facilitate pilgrims in traveling abroad

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior Shahryar Afridi has issued directives to provide fool-proof and maximum security to pilgrims who want to go abroad. He issued these directives while chairing a meeting which was held in Islamabad with regard to provision of security to pilgrims on the occasion of Ashura.

The meeting was attended by officials of the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Religious Affairs and officials of other departments. The state minister has also issued directives to facilitate the pilgrims in their movements. The measures are being taken to facilitate pilgrims in traveling abroad to observe the holy occasion as there have been several cases of mismanagement in the recent past, thus the minister has assured to provide people with appropriate help.

Afridi assures foolproof security to Chinese

“Religious harmony and peace is mandatory for the progress and development of the country,” said Afridi.

During the meeting, the state minister also ordered that deployment of immigration officials of FIA should be increased besides ordering expansion of immigration offices.
