KARACHI:

A man allegedly involved in forcibly entering a residential apartment and holding a woman and her six-year-old daughter hostage died after falling from the sixth floor of the building in Ranchore Line area on Wednesday.

SHO said the deceased was identified as Hanan, aged between 45 and 50 years. A case has been registered against the deceased on the complaint of Juma Bibi.

The complainant stated in FIR that her husband was not at home when the suspect forcibly entered the flat. She alleged that the intruder grabbed her burqa and, upon resistance, struck her on the head with a sewing machine, causing injuries. She further stated that she and daughter raised alarm, and soon neighbours gathered outside the apartment.

The complainant claimed that the suspect locked the flat from inside and held them hostage. However, as the situation intensified and neighbours assembled, the man allegedly attempted to escape through a ventilation duct inside the building that opens towards the ground floor. He reportedly lost his balance and fell, resulting in his death.
