ISLAMABAD: Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing on Tuesday called on State Minister on Interior Shehryar Afridi in Islamabad and discussed matters of mutual interests.
Both the dignitaries agreed to enhance the cooperation in security-related matters.
The state minister said that Pakistan and China enjoy the historic relations.
He said foolproof security is being provided to Chinese citizens who are residing in Pakistan.
“The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a game-changer initiative that will cause economic prosperity in the area. Other countries should also become part of projects of CPEC,” Afridi said.
He said the matter of security in the region is getting importance.
Moreover, he said the reforms which were brought into the police department of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa would be implemented in Islamabad Police.
He said having knowhow of technology is call the day and there is a need to establish oneself in line with it. Earlier the Chinese ambassador congratulated Afridi for being appointed as the state minister in the federal cabinet.
