Chaman raid: Huge cache of explosives, suicide vests seized

A huge cache of explosives and a number of suicide vests were seized from a bomb-making factory in the neighbourhood of Chaman, a town bordering Afghanistan.


According to a Frontier Corps (FC) spokesman, paramilitary forces carried out a search operation with the assistance of Balochistan Levies and an intelligence agency following a tip-off about a bomb-making factory in Rehman Kohl area of Chaman district of Qilla Abdullah. The FC troops recovered a number of suicide jackets, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs).


The equipment being used for producing explosives are in FC custody. The law enforcers also seized 21 rockets, one SMG, one LMG with 250 rounds, 120 anti-personnel mines, four walkie-talkie sets, 100 radio-receivers, 20 remote controls, three grenades, 20 timed-devices and three motorcycles.
