Lahore resident fined repeatedly for motorcycle stolen in 2024
E-challans indicate that motorcycle is still being driven on streets of Lahore

A Lahore resident continues to receive e-challans for a motorcycle that was stolen last year, despite a police case being registered and the vehicle remaining unrecovered.
According to police records, the motorcycle was stolen from the Raiwind area in 2024, and an FIR was lodged at Raiwind police station in February 2024. However, the owner has since received multiple e-challans, including a recent one.

The e-challans indicate that the motorcycle is still being driven on the streets of Lahore. However, the police themselves appear helpless or have failed to locate it, leaving the citizen distressed.

Another way the traffic e-challan has been misused is through digital scams.
As of December 2025, citizens across Punjab have reported receiving fake e-challan SMS messages.
In response, the Punjab Safe Cities Authority has issued a warning, urging residents to stay vigilant of such online scams.
