PESHAWAR/ISLAMABAD:

Prince Rahim Aga Khan has shown keen interest in exploring investment opportunities across various sectors in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) and reaffirmed his commitment to continued collaboration for the province's sustainable development.

The 50th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslims who wrapped up his three-day visit to Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) on Monday expressed these views during a meeting with K-P Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, according to a statement issued by the CM Secretariat.

CM Afridi visited Lower Chitral on Sunday, where he joined Governor Kundi and other political and government dignitaries in welcoming the Aga Khan on his arrival in the district.

In a meeting following his arrival, the two sides discussed K-P's development priorities, investment opportunities, and ongoing initiatives in key sectors, including health, education, tourism, and socioeconomic development.

Speaking to the media later, the CM said the meeting provided an opportunity for a constructive exchange on K-P's investment potential, the provincial government's development agenda, and ongoing efforts aimed at improving public welfare and economic growth.

The CM acknowledged the Aga Khan Development Network's longstanding contribution, particularly in the northern regions and Chitral.

He said these initiatives in healthcare, education, community development, and social welfare have had a transformative impact on local communities.

He further stated that discussions also covered the proposed establishment of Aga Khan University and Aga Khan Hospital facilities in Peshawar.

Afridi reiterated that the provincial government remains fully committed to advancing world class education and healthcare services, facilitating investment, and promoting inclusive and sustainable development across the province.

He emphasized that all available resources are being mobilized to translate this vision into tangible outcomes for the people of the province.

The reception was also attended by K-P Assembly Deputy Speaker Suraiya Bibi, Malakand Division commissioner, Malakand regional police officer, Lower Chitral deputy commissioner, and other senior political and administrative officials.
