KARACHI:

For the fourth year, The Crafter's Expo 2015, jointly organised by The Crafter's Guild and Firefly, will showcase handicrafts and art pieces produced by the local artisan community.

It will be held on Sunday, December 6, between 12 and 8 pm, at The Palm Diamond Marquee in Clifton.

"The Crafter's Expo is home to independent artists, crafters and artisans, all from Pakistan," said Varah Musavvir, the creative director of Firefly. "Diversity is apparent in our work and the visual display on the day of the exhibition is a treat for all eyes".

She said handmade items ranging from accessories to home décor, gift items to footwear, paper craft to artisan cosmetics will all be a part of the show. The participants are predominantly women or young entrepreneurs running home-based businesses, she explained. "They put in their all over a course of six to eight months to piece together some beautiful handmade work to reach out to potential clients," added Musavvir.

She added that this year they have partnered with organisations such as WomenX, Women's Inc, Sheops and Dastkari.pk. According to Musavvir, after the success of their smaller sister show, the Indie Art and Craft Show, they will hold craft demonstrations once again to teach visitors about different craft projects, all using various products by Craft Circus.
